I have road reading for you.
You will probably get tons of suggestions on what to see and where to go, what to eat and on and on and on. I am submitting the blog of a friend of mine for aimless reading. 🙂 He and his wife, sometimes kids are along, most of the time not, that keep us informed of their venture to visit every county in the USA, 3142. I believe they are now over 2000. Anyway, the routes are nuts. I am not suggesting you two do the same, just an interesting diversion from normalcy.
