First outing

Our shakedown cruise was pretty close to home, and to Burlington RV where we’d bought Romy and where we’d scheduled some tweaks: Racine County Cliffside Park.

Pros: Electric, water, fire ring, picnic table. Good-sized sites, easy to maneuver (unless it’s the first time you’ve ever backed up your 5er in which case there’s no such thing), dumping station.

Cons: Dumping station is a tiny bit tricky if you’re unsure of your maneuvering – to the right of the station is a stone-lined drainage ditch with a four-foot (or so) dropoff. During our visit (late August 2019) access via Six Mile Road/Highway 31/Highway 32 was not available due to construction so required some side streets, and Google Maps was surprisingly inaccurate regarding access.

  1. For future travels, Please tell me what you did, what was interesting to you, would you go back, or been there done that, don’t need to go again. Well that was a long sentence. Sorry, I’m the person who likes to hear everything, lol
